2016 Kayaking Season

As the weather warms it is time to get the paddles out, put the life jacket on and with a kayak head out on to the water.

This is the fourth year the Watering Hole Kayak Club has been operating and we look forward to another season on the water paddling, learning new skills and how to keep safe. In the past we have learned paddling skills and how to get out of, and then get back in to, a kayak on the water. We have also learned some basic and essential rescue skills which means we can take trips further afield.

The short video below is a short trip we made on Southampton Water up to Redbridge

The Watering Hole Kayaking Club is for all abilities; novice and proficient kayakers are always welcome. There is time set aside for for beginners and time too for those with more advanced skill sets wanting to improve.

Even if you do not kayak come along as there is always a picnic and often field games for the non-kayakers or those taking a break so it can be a fun family day out. All kayaking equipment and safety gear are provided. However, a change of clothes, sunscreen and food and drink are your responsibility.
