Coronavirus Pandemic – Statement

Updated statement - March 24, 2020

The current coronavirus situation is rapidly changing. Yesterday, March 23, 2020 introduced stringent measures to combat the Coronavirus Covid-19. In the last 24 hours the situation nationally and locally has changed. As a result the following statement supersedes our previous statement of March 17, 2020

The Watering Hole, as a church, will follow the UK Government, Public Health England and our own head office’s directives, advice and recommendations. This requires the suspension of all church gatherings. We have, with immediate effect, suspended all forms of church services and are planning alternative ways to meet the spiritual needs of the community.

Venues where we meet and run clubs have closed. In addition the government has banned social gatherings.

As a result The Watering Hole has taken the following actions:

  • All clubs we operate are suspended until further notice. These include, JC4Kidz, Monday Funday Club, CAFE Reach, Reach Up and Kayaking.
  • All activities have been suspended. Details of these changes will be posted online
  • The Easter Creative Arts show is postponed until such time as recommended by the government.
  • Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt is cancelled
  • Our Easter Service is cancelled
  • Health experts recommend exercising out of doors during the crisis. See government guidelines for what is permitted. We will not be organising guided walks for the foreseeable future.

Our intention is to serve our community in the best way possible within the limitations of the current coronavirus outbreak. To that end if you require any help please contact us on 07503 190 775 or

We will review the situation and our response to it regularly and post any updates on our website and on our Facebook Pages.

Meanwhile follow government guidelines about staying healthy and avoiding spreading the disease.
