Kayak Club

Join us for a paddle

The Watering Hole Kayak Club has several kayaks and all the equipment you will need including paddles, helmets and buoyancy jackets. It is a great chance for young people and adults to have the opportunity to experience the activity of kayaking. It also provides a unique opportunity for intergenerational recreational activity. Anyone interested in having a go generally meets one Sunday a month at Eling slipway.

Starting time varies according to the tide times. You can find dates and times for this year by clicking on the button below.

Details

Each session is led by an experienced and qualified coach. It costs £2 per adult £1 for under 18s. As we are only a small club we are limited in how long a person gets to use the kayak at each session. If we are oversubscribed on a particular date then kayaks will have to be shared. Occasionally you might get to be in the kayak the whole time.

If you have family members that want something to do while waiting for you to finish kayaking then we usually organise some sort of land-based activity on Goatee beach. This could be a picnic, rounders, walking treasure hunt etc. So there is plenty for everyone to do.

Both training and trips are planned for 2014 and other activities are arranged at each kayaking event for those not wishing to kayak.

Click here for a list of things to bring if you plan to go kayaking. If you plan on coming kayaking please inform Rosemary (07503 190775) so that we know what equipment to bring to the launch point.
