Kayaking Club: New season

Exploring an old wreck on the River Hamble

Sunday, April 9th the Watering Hole Kayaking Club is back on the water. We cater for all abilities with the emphasis on fun and learning new skills.

Cost is £2 per adult per session and £1 for children under 16 years. Children under 16 must wear one of the helmets that will be provided. All equipment including life jackets will be provided.

It is essential to let us know if you are attending by the preceding Wednesday evening so that the right equipment is ready for you. Call 07503 190775 or email us. We meet, on average once a month with trips for those with suitable skill level. Often non-kayaking members of the family will bring a picnic and enjoy “dry land” activities.

Sunday, August 6th

Location = Rising Sun Pub, Warsash

Start = 10:00; Finish = 14:00

10:00 – 11:00 = new paddlers 40-minute trial session (10mins to get suited up; 40mins on water; 10mins to get packed up). Important: New paddlers need to be 30 minutes early for the brief and a safety talk.

There is the opportunity for a family picnic if you are prepared to walk the coastal path for 20-30mins. The Rising Sun pub offers reasonably priced food and drinks. Public toilets are available approx. 500mtrs from the pub. The pub also has toilets if necessary.

This trip will be a wet session and all participants will get wet so bring a set of clothes and a towel. Changing is possible in the car park toilets.

Please note that children under 12 will need to go in a kayak with their responsible adult.
