What’s happening… in August

The summer is here even if the weather doesn’t realise it. It’s August, a month when the regular stuff we do takes a break. However, that does not mean that things stop. There is always something going on at the Watering Hole. Here then is what we have planned.

CITF 005

Church in the Forest. August 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th.

Instead of House Church and the fortnightly celebration at the Calmore Community Centre we head out into the New Forest for a picnic and a discussion on spiritual topics. Each week we go to a different place so do check back on the calendar or our Facebook Page to find out where we are for that week. Unless otherwise stated we start at 11:30pm and are finished by 1:00pm for a picnic. You are welcome to join us for church in the forest or turn up just for the picnic.

Card-Making Workshop. August 17th

There will be a full day card-making workshop from 10:00am – 4:00pm in the Rufus Room at Calmore Community Centre. This open to anyone and is run by the team from the regular card making club. Materials for the card-making will be supplied but please bring your own lunch. Cost for the day is £8 (£7 if you are a member of the Calmore Community Association)

Picnic, kite flying and team games. August 22nd

A fun time for all the family up on Whitfield Moor in the New Forest. The picnic starts at 1:30pm immediately following Church in the Forest (see above). Bring your own food and join in the fun.

Chapel Porth 100

Picnic and waterslide. 29th August

The waterslide has become an annual event and is a fun time for young and old alike. Slide down the hill at Whitfield Moor on a water covered plastic sheet. Have fun, get wet and enjoy a great time with friends and family. Event begins at 1:30pm. Bring a your own picnic.

Unless otherwise stated the above events are FREE. For more details on any of the events or for directions phone 07941 903257 or contact us by email.

Several of the events are weather dependent. If the event is cancelled or changed then we will post a notice to that effect on our Facebook Page so please do check before setting off.
